If Photography Was a Love Story

If photography was a love story, it would begin long before the shutter clicked.
It would start with noticing.
The way light slips through a window at sunset.
The way someone’s eyes become glossy without them realizing.
The gentle calm that follows shared laughter.
Photography wouldn’t fall in love loudly.
It would fall in love patiently.
It would memorize details —the crease in a smile,
the nervous hands before a touch,
the wind catching a hair at exactly the right second.
If photography was a love story, it wouldn’t be about perfection.
It would be about presence.
It would wait calmly in the background, knowing that the best moments are never forced.
They unfold. And when they do, it would be ready — not to interrupt them, but to cherish them.
It would understand that love isn’t always easy.
Sometimes it’s overwhelming.
Sometimes it’s messy.
But sometimes it’s just two people standing close enough that the rest of the world is out of focus.
If photography was a love story, it wouldn’t chase trends.
It would chase authenticity.
Because years from now, when memories blur and voices soften, the photograph will still be there — holding onto the way it felt.
Not just how it looked.
